Clinic's Offered:
Details and Descriptions

Colt Starting & Introduction to Horses and Mules Series

1. First Things First Clinic-

Beginner Horsemanship

We suggest that if you have never taken a clinic with Carlo before, you should start here!

It focuses on round penning and halter work techniques that will help you to communicate with your equine through body language and help you to be more aware of their body language. This clinic will cover how to achieve an inside/outside turn as well as gait changes while maintaining a soft neck and body.

If you have issues with trailering, standing for the farrier, mounting/dismounting, riding between or around obstacles, this is the clinic for your horse or mule!

Cost: prices will be posted when clinics are available

Location: TBA for each season

2. Building Blocks for Success-

Intermediate Horsemanship

On the coattails of the 'First Things First' clinic, 'Building Blocks for Success' will continue your equines journey to becoming a reliable partner, while giving you the tools to be safe. This clinic focuses on using halter work techniques to get and keep that soft neck and body along with the correct footwork that will help to ensure a safe and enjoyable ride.

By learning both round penning and halter work, the human becomes more confident and the horse or mule gains more support for the pair to work freely and willingly.

Intermediate Horsemanship is a more advanced look at ground work in the respect that you, the handler, will be asking more precise movement and focus from your equine. This will direct correlate to your riding.

Cost: prices will be posted when clinics are available

Location: TBA for each season

3. Riding with Confidence-

Introduction to  Riding

This clinic is designed to piggy back on the previous two clinics. You will need a horse that is ready for its first ride or has been ridden before. (can be any stage of saddle broke) This clinic will focus on ensuring a safe and enjoyable ride while maintaining a soft neck and body, and correct footwork.

For the further along riders and horses: smooth gait changes while mounted, effective back-up, side passing, confident obstacle maneuvering, and much more will be taught.

Cost: prices will be posted when clinics are available

Location: TBA for each season

Advanced Riding

For the further along riders and horses: smooth gait changes while mounted, effective back-up, side passing, confident obstacle maneuvering, transitioning to a hackamore, 2-reining, and much more will be taught.

Cost: prices will be posted when clinics are available

Location: TBA for each season

Specialty Clinics

Packing ~ Cattle Handling ~ Driving

These clinics are offered only when we have knowledge of interested participants or a group of participants have gotten together to request. If you are interested in throwing a diamond so your packs don't fall off in the mud, how to handle your horse around a herd of cows, or drive a content team, let us know and we will work at organizing a clinic to meet your needs.
